Haryana Govt's major move: fresh push for electric vehicles
New industrial policy to prioritize the middle class and green energy
Investment and jobs to grow with changes in MSME Policy
Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-
Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, has taken a major step to provide relief to middle-class consumers. He has directed officials to restore the subsidy on electric vehicles priced below Rs 40 lakh, aiming to promote eco-friendly transport and benefit the general public.
Rao Narbir Singh today chaired a high-level review meeting with officers from the Industries Department regarding the new MSME policy.
During the meeting, he was informed that currently, a subsidy of up to 15 per cent is available only on electric vehicles costing over Rs 40 lakh , a price point out of reach for the middle class. The Minister emphasized that promoting green energy will be meaningful only if its benefits reach the common citizen. He directed officials to take immediate policy decisions to address this issue.
The Minister also emphasized that state-level procedures for processing grant amounts received under various Government of India schemes should be completed promptly to ensure timely fund receipt and avoid any delays in industrial development. He further directed officials to finalize the necessary amendments to the 2019 MSME policy and to implement the new MSME policy without delay.
Rao Narbir Singh said that Haryana’s geographical location is highly advantageous. The state is not only part of the National Capital Region but also has direct connectivity to Indira Gandhi International Airport and Jewar Airport. He emphasized the need for a modern, practical, and inclusive new industrial policy to attract investors from across India and abroad, which will generate new employment opportunities in the state.
Important schemes reviewed
In the meeting, the Minister reviewed several central government schemes, including the RAMP Scheme, Padma Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme, Mini Cluster Scheme, Plug and Play Scheme, and the Haryana Enterprise and Employment Policy-2020.
